SEWALL WOODS CONSERVATION AREA

Excerpt from Lakes Region Conservation Trust Sewall Woods Conservation Project Update:

Conservation of the four parcels of Sewall Woods (McBride, Tuttle, Munro, and Horn) has long been a priority for the community and the Lakes Region Conservation Trust. We are now in the final phase of the campaign for the funds that were needed to acquire the fourth and final parcel!

The continued commitment of the community to completion of this 10-year, 176-acre conservation project has been shown by the generous contributions made since our Winter 2008 Project Update:

  • To date, $57,000 of the $147,000 needed to complete the final project phase has been donated.
  • An additional $10,000 has been donated to establish a Sewall Woods Stewardship Fund.

The total community investment in the conservation of Sewall Woods to date is over $1.7 million (including monetary and land gifts). We need your help to raise the final $90,000 of the funds used to acquire the fourth parcel. Completion of the Sewall Woods project will represent the culmination of an extraordinary conservation and community effort to preserve one of Wolfeboro’s most special places for the benefit and enjoyment of present and future generations.

Thank you for your continued support!
